Teeth are strong, but they’re not invulnerable to damage. If you bite down on something hard, get hit in the face or mouth, fall, your teeth can break, especially if they’ve already been weakened by tooth decay.
Breaking a tooth can be a painful experience by itself. If the break is left untreated, bacteria can infect the pulp inside of your teeth, leading to an infection or abscess that exacerbates the pain and can lead to further infections in your jawbone, other teeth, and surrounding tissues.
Dental fillings - If the break is relatively minor, we may be able to fix it with a dental filling. Click here to learn more about dental fillings.
Root canal - If your tooth infection has gotten to the point where it causes you severe pain and/or has produced an abscess, you may need a root canal. Click here to learn more about root canal treatments.
Dental implants - If your tooth is severely infected, it may be so damaged that it cannot be saved with a root canal. The tooth may need to be removed and replaced with an implant and crown that looks and functions just like a natural tooth. Click here to learn more about dental implants.
